Legal to Legal
We recognise that larger law firms often need legal support from outside their own practice drawn from legal advisors they can trust and rely on and with whom they have worked with in the past and therefore respect.
Such law firms requiring additional legal support, particularly in specific market sectors such as oil and gas, mining and natural resources, clean technology, data protection and intellectual property, are already using the legal to legal support services that a niche boutique law firm such as Burlingtons can offer.
Our flexible charging mechanisms to clients, including our law firm clients, enable us to provide a consultancy support service and provide such law firms with a profit margin even when out-sourcing their legal work to Burlingtons.
The service offering to its clients is branded by the law firm not by Burlingtons, allowing the law firm client a seamless and supportive offering to its own client. Our standard consultancy agreement also provides belt and braces confidentiality provisions and restrictive covenants to protect the law firm client and make it comfortable with the working relationship with Burlingtons in respecting the ownership and source of their own client.
Burlingtons has so far been engaged in this capacity in relation to several oil and gas transactions, a data protection audit and advising a law firm in relation to its clients’ software agreements and procurement requirements.
